Hello all,
My Names Justin. I've decided to start creating this blog to do what I can to help clean up our earth. I grew up in Montana where other then a few copper mines in the rural area's people really aren't all that worried about pollution or the environment. Oh sure we like to be clean and we are aware that there are a lot of issues but with such a small population in such a large area it was never in our face. Guess we have an attitude that our small population has about as much of an effect on the out come as our one electoral vote does for the presidency. For years I've gone around like most people living day to day not thinking about the long term effects of everything I do. From the vehicles I've driven to the bottle of waters I drank. Well a few years back I took a road to LA California to visit a friend of mine. Now at the time I was working in a company that owned, operated, and dispatched semi trucks. definitely not an environmentally friendly occupation when you consider fuel emissions and the tons of paper we went threw daily. Not to mention some of the dangerous chemicals we hauled. Anyways I had the opportunity to spend 9 days with my friend and i met tons of people who lived life a little differently then we do in Montana. They were all incredibly conscious of everything they used and did and how it's long term effects. With out forcing anything upon me but just by living life with them for those 9 days I say all the little ways i really could make a difference all the simple ways that really have little to no effect on my life that can make a long term difference in the world. From the grocery bags that I could replace with my own reusable bags and packs to the food that I eat and water I drink. It was a wonderful experience. I really felt free there, very self sufficient, and my conscious felt light. I didn't realize it at the time what it was that was making me feel so, passing it off my feelings of elation's as part of the effects of being on vacation and out of the office. Once I returned home to Montana I promptly fell right back into the habits I had followed for years, and right back into the constrictions of dependency coupled with a heavy conscious. As time went on though I reflected back on my experience in CA and the wonderful people I'd had the opportunity to meet. and slowly I've started to adopt more and more of the things they showed me. And with each piece that I incorporated into my own life the happier I became. I know I know I'm wordy and probably very boring and I doubt very many people (if any) have read this far. So where am I going with this, what is the point I'm trying to make? The point is that I've spent a lot of my life being part of the problem and while I'd never admitted it consciously I always knew it subconsciously. It took great friends showing me through their life another way life could be. So my life is changed, and is changing and will always be in a state of flux, at least i hope so cause we can always be better tomorrow then we were today. And I want to use this blog site to help share with others ways that we can live clean, clean homes and clean environment. After what its done for me, it wouldn't be right to keep it to myself. So please feel free to leave your comments and suggestions on what we can do to keep the earth clean. I welcome the information.
Anyways if you stuck with me this long I thank you. Hopefully my writing will improve too.
